Hey guys found these in a cow pasture near my house. I dont have a cam so i wasnt able to get pics but I do have a scanner but i can't figure out how save the images as a type of file that i can upload, but im still trying... Anyway here is the info if you can make anything out of it. Where: I found them scattered in small groups near some old cow poo. Usually about 5-10 of them in one area. Gills: Im a pretty novice hunter but I think the gills are attached and are an off white color. Stem: The stem is a white color and approx .5-1.5inches in length and relatively thin. I also noticed a small ring about halfway between the cap and the base of the stipe. The best i can describe it as not completely solid, some of the larger ones are pretty hollow while the smaller ones are more solid. Cap: The cap is 3/4 to 2 inches across and 1/4 - 1/2 inch wide (top to bottom). When i picked them they were a butter yellow color to light brown and are becoming more brown as time passes. The color does not change very much with handling and the yellow seems to fade slightly as it dries.
So i used my friends scanner and was able to attain some pics to help identify my mushrooms.
As for the spore print I dont have those yet, i've had them on the paper for nearly 3 hours but nothing yet.. I will just add this later.
This is the 2nd species i found and described in my reply to this thread. Sorry for the inorganization.

If they are bruising brown or rust they are not likely active...
As for scanning them.. You scan them and save the file.. Then set up a photo album here and down load that pic to this sight and then post it...

I suspected they weren't active as for the scanner its really old and the button on it that is supposed to be able to post images on the web isn't working and im giving up on it. Thanks for the help tho bud.
Edit: I almost forgot about the other species I had found.i suspect its a Gymnopolis spectabilis. I found it underneath an oaktree near a fenceline. There are no animals or livestock where i found this, i came upon it and i thought it looked a lot like a pile of goldfish crackers . I found a large cluster guessing 25-30 mushrooms and another that had 5 or 6. The cap as i mentioned is very bright orange with yellow gills (almost a pale green) with a stems ranging from 1/2 to 1.5 inch stems that are the same color as the gills and bruise a pale orange/brown. They smell kind of a strong unpleasant odor too, if anyone can confirm my guess that would be great.
Edit: I want to add that the sporeprint on the 2nd mushroom is a very light brown.

for future reference, this has nothing to do with wether you can upload or post pict here. you will scan it to file as you would anything else, then from the shroomery board select my pics from the top left of the nav bar. there will be a button titled upload wich will bring up an applet that will bring you through the upload proccess. when it is done, it will give you the UBBCode or HTML to put a thumbnailed link to your pic in a post.

I realize this but the only way to save it to file is with the buttons that are on the scanner itself and none of those work. I read the FAQ and looked for about an hour trying to find another way but i couldnt.

ah, that is a shame. does your scanner have driver software for controlling it from the desktop?
[edit: nevermind.]

the first one might be a stropharia. print will help. was it growing from grassy area?
the second is probably Naematoloma fasciculare, the sulphur turf mushroom.

yes it was found in a grassy cow pasture near manure but i never found one that actually grew on on the poo itself. I've had a cap sitting on a piece of paper for several hours probably 5 or 6 and there is still no spore print.
