casing pulling away?

Is it normal for the casing to pull away from the side of the container after the first flush? My friend just harvested his first flush off a meatloaf tin, when he felt the casing layer it was extremely dry and hard, but he had heard never to spray a casing while shroomies were in it. Will it be allright? He just needs to mist until pins form again right? Thanks!!!

yes

yes. dont mist all at once though. if its dry and hard try mistinh lightly 2 or 3 times a day until it looks hydrated again and try to keep RH in your terrarium up to prevent that. i also believe you can mist the casing once teh pins are large and past primordia stage; but dont try it until you hear from a more experienced mind. anyone else on that?
