ZooDoo and Crumbling

Okay this is perhaps a "basic" question but I am looking for "advanced" answers. Starting with some fully colonized half-pint cakes, what would be the most fruitful way to combine them with ZooDoo (plus anything else like verm, straw, etc.)? I have so far had great results with just verm and ZooDoo, casing it with 50/50.

Also, where can I find a "basic" answer to this question, a step-by-step of cake crumbling and sterilizing?
