I'm looking at either the HP IPAQ or the Palm TX
pretty much similar... from my perspective the palm looks like the better buy, but what the fuck do I know.
which is a better OS? The Palm OS or Windows Mobile?
Is gaming possible on these?
and most importantly, what will my shroomery browsing experience be like?

I don't know how much their core operating systems have changed much in the past few years, but I used to operate a PDA site which reviewed the different systems and features.
The Windows platform generally has a few more features (although taking a look at the Palm TX they don't look drastically different) and is more unstable and unreliable than the Palm platform. I would recommend the Palm, because it looks cooler, has awesome features, and is generally more reliable.
As for the Shroomery experience, it depends. It used to be that web site owners had to make a PDA version of their website, if they wanted users to be able to access it. However, that was a few years ago, so it's probably changed. My guess would be that you'll just see a smaller version of the Shroomery.

Check the Nokia 770 internet tablet. At $350 it can't be beat.

Windows Mobile is by far better but im biased being that im a MCSE
Realy though there are far more apps for Windows Mobile the only guys that use Palm OS are Sony (their own funky version) Palm and HandSpring. It a very personal choice but the best I can realy offer is go to the stores and play with them, they only person that can tell you wich is best for you is you.

Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer... - a pint of raw ether... - Shit ! two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip... but once you get locked into a serious drug collection... the tendency is to push it as far as you can.
