animal spirits
    #508816 - 01/03/02 11:59 AM (15 years, 3 months ago)

my guineapig died recently, i was very attached to him. do you think animals have a spirit that survives their physical deaths? if yes, what happens to them after death? what does your experience with psychedelics/life tell you about this? i know i have to accept this loss, never to hold him close and to enjoy eachother presence... but it would be somewhat comforting to know he is 'in a better place', is he still out there - can anyone tell me this?

Animals follow a path of evolution and reincarnation similar to humans. Your guinea pig is fine..

Why on earth would Creation create somehthing for no reason?

shroomism, thank you for your nice line.

i wish i could believe as strongly as you or see it with my own eyes. regardless, i will still miss him and we will never be together in this way again - i'll never hear his comforting noises and feel his fur again: NEVER. i will remember the time we had and hold the memories close, what else can you do?

it all boils down to the age old question - what's the meaning in life. Do we life forever and what about our individuality? Lots of our individuality is in our body that will die... so will i ever recognize the 'spirit' of my pet? Is the eternal part the part we experience in the trip? maybe i should cry for a week - but it will never bring the dead back.

on that note, do you think that animail spirits can linger and exact revenge. Like if the spirit of the moniter i killed and ate will come back and haunt me in evil spirit form. It was eating meat, which is wrong, and the birds told me to kill it. So i had one last binge of a big rib lizard dinner. We were close too.

...yes. Cry for a week. Grieve the loss. And only after you have grieved do you move on. By moving on, I don't mean that you forget about your pet and the love you shared. You grieve. You heal. You move on to the next part of life. You will never be the same. Life will never be the same. You will always remember and the loss will be there. But you will continue. You will live on. Your pet represented a physical manifestation of a part of yourself. "God" allowed you to see yourself in this precious little creature to realize how precious you are. As king Solomon said, (paraphased) "Who is to say whether a man's spirit goes up (to God) and an animal's goes down (to the earth) or whether both alike return to God." ......Tannis
