You need a trip to the GROW/FIND section of the shroomery. Go now, and seek your knowledge. After you have read and scanned the board for answers come back and ask questions. Peace p.s. Read the PF Tek or MMGG Tek and start from there growing.

Put the jars in a dark place. Make an incubator. Keep the Temp at 84 to 86 degrees......and they will do the best. I don't put holes in my jars. I leave the jar lids loose....mine seem to like air exchange. Please read the Treks.....You will gain knowledge There is also a search. Hope i helped

Your welcome! Dude make an incubator.....they are easy! Go get a Rubbermaid or something like that brand. Put water up to half way mark on jars. Stick a submersible aquarium heater in it. Get the heat up to 84 to 86 degrees. Buy a Radio Shack Thermo-Hygrometer.....model # 63-1031 They cost $19.95.....and it reads temp and humidity. It seem's pretty acurate to me. Then let nature run its course....after 3 or 4 days you will see colinization start kicking in.....Keep the jar lids loose....for air exchange....too tight a jar lid might make them stall. I have my jars sitting on a rack so they are out off the water...btw If you need anything pm me....i will help you if i can.

I used a styrofoam cooler for my incubator. Put a glass jar or rubbermaid tea pitcher in the middle of cooler, full of water with aquarium heater in it and jars sittin all around it. If you put foil over the jar it won't cook away the water and wont have water beads all over inside of cooler(that seems like it would be a good place for contams to start) Also I take my jars out once a night take them out and lay them on their side for about an hour to let the CO2 pour out. That really seemed to speed up colonizing. If you mark your jars with a sharpie you can see exactly how much progress your making each day. Invert a few. keep notes and you'll be better next time. I have 12 jars that are 95% colonized in 12 days at 86 deg. I inverted half of them and really can't see much difference. The inverted jars may be just a shade ahead. But no contams at all yet. Good luck! WakingUpLate

Try using an old aquarium as a terrarium. Make sure it has the aquarium lights wich sit on top. Seal the top with a cut out piece of cardboard. When sitting in a room of about 72 degrees (average room temp), the aquarium lights will warm up the inside of your terrarium to about 82 degrees...perfect. Leave the lights on 24/7, they make no difference.

I just put all of my jars in a rubbermaid container and set it on top of my fridge. My temps are usually about 88 degrees and you don't have to bother with using a aquarium heater or anything else like that.

wouldnt the humidity of the evaperated water etc boost the chance of contams? :)

Yes it would I would think.. Get a regular fish tank heater and stick it in a jar or something with a small opening (so the water doesnt evaporate out) Or if you have to go with the water and submersible method...put your jars in a seperate rubbermaid, floating on the water so contams dont enter.
