I am on my second batch of PF 1/2 jars, this time its amozonian. I am having trouble getting the bottem of the jars to colinate. I am 14 days in to colinization. the sides have grown well. the jars are getting enough air exchange(no tap on holes and lids just snug). with my first batch of EC I had no such problem. whats the deal?

Prolly a little wet at the bottom. Turn them over like phrozen said or birth them. If the sides are all done, it's prolly just a thin layer at the bottom that is too wet to colonize.

Flipping jars has never really been proven to have any benifit, it it does, its probably from releasing pressure from the bottom of the substrate make it a little less dense.
It can just sometimes take longer though, 14 days is the fastest usually you will have full colinisaiton. Remember to wait a week after it apears fully colinised.
If you have flip your jars, dont flip them back untill full colinisation. As you have disturbed the dry verm layer which is your contamination barrier.
So you have flipped your jars and the inoc holes are covered, whats providing gas exchange#.?

Agreed. However, as veda said, it could possibly wet the "dry" verm layer and possibly caiuse contam issues. But if it's that far along, contam from the top (now bottom) probably won't be an issue. Try it with one jar and see where it goes if you're not sure what to do.

My inc chamber is a rubbermaid with a valley around outer edge jars have airspace on this valley thus allowing gas exchange. Once again I'm new to this but flipping jars has def helped. My jars seemed to doulble over night in mycellium growth.

Rapid increase after 4 days of inverting jars. So apparently it def helps speed things up a lot. I'm seeing that firsthand.
