What makes you think we're helping the world economy? You really think Saddam didn't want to export the oil his country had? We are doing nothing to change the supply of oil. We have merely seized control of it for our own corporations.

How have we sized oil for our companies? It's not like Iraq is a new oil source for the U.S. and we now have all the oil we need.

Anytime you stabilize a very important resource like oil you helping the economy. They can export to whom ever they like the don't need the U.S's demand to survive.

How's Halliburton been doing lately?

If only it were that easy. Sadly, oil is a finite resource, and the fact that we have handed Iraq's oil supply to American corporations will do nothing to halt peak oil.

How are we "stabilizing" the oil supply?

WB, I suppose you'll be pleased when the aliens arrive and kill us all because we're hogging up some resource they need?

God, you can't even bother to be consistent, can you? First you talk about "stabilizing" oil, then bring up the rising gas prices. Here's a little something for you to chew on: HALLIBURTON DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOU. They have no more incentive to provide cheap oil than Saddam did.

I was not aware that Halliburton was an oil monopoly, or even primarily an oil company. I always thought they were mostly a construction company, as opposed to, say, Exxon.

Whatever. The point still stands. It's stupid to expect that US oil companies will be any more generous about oil than Saddam was.

Comparing the Gulf WAR II to the Nazi movement is ridiculous. That analogy is a bit of a far stretch.

No, it's not. Both were military campaigns that involved occupation of foreign countries for the sake of national self-interest.

The government has a lot more of a control of an American company than a foreign power. There are steps the government can take if they deem it that one company has too much power. Remember the 80's and the bell's?(phone)
