When I plug my key board in the light blinks then it goes off and doesn't work,my mouse works though.I tried a different keyboard, same problem.I tried a USB/P2 adapter, same problem. When the hey board stopped working there was something on my screen asking about sticky keys or something.Anyone had this problem and know how to fix it?I cant even boot my computer up because i need my keyboard so I can enter the password.

Does the same message come up with the alternate keyboard?

Sounds like the keyboard is shot, but if it's the sticky keys giving you problems you can turn it off by going into Control Panel and accessibility options, Sticky Keys gets enabled I think if you hit the shift key 5 times.

It sounds like either a driver problem or a resourse conflict, which makes it difficult to resolve if you cant boot up. Anyone else?

Step 1, determine if the problem is hardware or software. The easiest way to do this is to reboot your computer and try to go into BIOS. Does the keyboard seem to function properly from BIOS? If so, then you have an OS problem... virus, driver corruption, etc. If they keyboard does not work, then go to step 2.
Step 2, is the problem the keyboard or the system board? Test a known good keyboard with your system board? If the problem is still there, then you most likely have a bad system board. Test your suspect bad keyboard on a known good system board to verify. (I have seen a keyboard blow out a logic board, but only once. Be careful with this last test. Take the keyboard to a computer store and see if they will test it for you... better to blow their system than a friends.)
If the system board is shot, you can usually switch to a USB keyboard to get around the issue. If the problem occurs with both a USB and PS/2 keyboard, then it is almost certainly a virus/driver issue.
