How long are syringes viable for?

I have been out of the country for about a year and a half. I just moved and in my moving founds some old syringes from Hawk. I had nothing to do tonight, so I cooked up a batch B+ and Mexi Cubs. Just wondering if anyone has had any success with spores after 2 years or any other length of time. Just curious! Later

Rychie Hawk recomends, as I recall, less than 6 months when kept in a fridge. Here is why I'm hesitent to agree: My friend had a Hawk Eye PESA syringe in her fridge for about 3 months. Well by that time she lost interest in that strain (discovered after getting the syringe that PESA SUCKS) and decided to inoculated only FOUR 1/2 pint jars with an entire syringe. Of these only three jars showed mycelium, and of those three jars only about 50% of the inoculating spots showed any growth! (no contanaments) AND they took over one month to even show signs of growth! That syringe was extremely dark. Nothing else can acount for such a poor spore geramation rate other than the theroy that the spores had seriously degraded within three months in a fridge.

well I guess we'll have to wait and see! I'm sure they won't be as amazing as 2 years ago...but I just don't want to wait 3-4 weeks to get some new syringes...I'll check the progress in 5-7 days and if nothing...I'll send away.

I had a syringe that was almost 5 years old and was still fine. But I wouldn't say that is the norm, they are definately best in the first few months.
