Bermuda Triangle

It is amazing how one of the most heavily travelled shipping/flying lanes would have a proportionately high accident/disappearance rate.

Man, Swami dude. This to me is a troll. What's your point? It's old and dead IMO. How about something we can really bite into.

Should I post something more spiritual like "How are you assholes doing?"
Post something that is much more bitable. (no pictures though)

I reported that post. But what kind of a reply is that? So what if someone else has to act like that. Maybe it's possible with some years of living to progress past that. What ya think?

I'm glad you've found this phenomenon as amazing as I have. Current theories suggests that the Bermuda Triangle is actually part of the edge of the Earth. Ships which do not navigate properly through the Bermuda Triangle simply fall of the Earth into a land inhabited by green-skinned women and Nazi's, never to be heard from again.

I believe that there is nothing supernatural about it. Perhaps there is a strange weather phenomena that exists there that makes flying or shipping difficult. But in reality, it is probably the fact that people THINK that the Bermuda exists therefore they MAKE it exist. In short, its the placebo effect.

What are the spiritual and/or philosophical implications of the belief some have in the Bermuda Triangle?

How come you only named a handful? Oh, right. There are literally thousands of those types of threads and you would be typing all day.
Now, now Veritas! Phred is just carrying on in the unbiased mod tradition of Swami thread clarification. Phred fully understands the cultish mindset behind Bermuda Triangle mystery advocates. He is just having fun.
Remember: only debunking is frowned upon (exposing myth as falsehood), but bunking (perpetuating lies) is acceptable material for discussion.

If it is true what you say that the Bermuda Triangle is one of the most heavily traveled shipping/flying lanes with a high accident rate, then why don't you ever hear about a recent crash on the news? I have never even seen a newspaper article about it.

Simple: Advancements in technology.
Better weather reporting - many accidents were due to sudden storms that are more easily avoided.
Improved communication and navigation (GPS), etc.

I thought they decided large gas bubbles (methane maybe?), rising from the ocean floor, were causing the ships to sink? Don't tell me the Discovery Channel has lied to me!

They investigated it as a viable possibility. It has never been shown to have actually happened.

Ahh, I didn't know. I now feel the innocent gas bubbles should be innocent until proven guilty.
