Question: Nepal Chitwan with BRF cakes
    #5056548 - 12/13/05 10:08 AM (18 years, 4 months ago)

Does anyone know if Nepal Chitwan growing on BRF cakes takes longer to colonize and grow mycelium?

I'm incubating at around 86 in a incubating chamber with a water heater. My burma cakes are in the same chamber and are doing really well.

Earlier this last summer and fall I had some experience with the NC strain. At the same time I was also experimenting with some brazilians. As a general rule, the NC strain colonized my substrates much slower than the brazilians using both BRF and WBS (~1-2 weeks longer colonization time).

I have yet to get any of the colonized cakes or WBS cased with 50/50 verm/peat to fruit. The fully colonized cakes and casings of NC simply sit around seemingly doing nothing while other strains in the same terrarium are fruiting wildly.

Good luck...if you have positive results, please share your experiences. For the time being, I have given up hope of fruiting an NC mushies.

Maybe they grow better on poo? It seems like all of the pictures of Nepal chitwans that I've seen have been grown on a poo medium.
