Just wondering what everyone uses for their dehydrator temperature setting?

Turn the heat off completely if you can. Psilocybin deteriorates in hot conditions

Don't think so, think of it as an airtunnel. Movement of air evaps water. Nature of the beast.

True, that is why so many use drying agents after initial dehyrator use. He simply asked what temp to set the dehydrator at.

Dessicants are successful if they reduce the relative humidity of a container to 40%. If the ambient environment of your drying area had a relative humidity of 30%, there would be no need to use a desiccant.
jtseaweed: As agar has said, it is considered "safe" to run a dehydrator, so long as the heat stays below 115/120 degrees farenheit. Agar has a great deal of experience in mushroom cultivation, and I would be inclined to trust his judgement and experience.

richardcypher101: I apologise, the second half of my post was addressed to tseaweed.
However, I disagree with you - "plain" air will successfully dry mushrooms completely if the ambient humidity is low enough. Depending on where you live and what season it is, desiccant may or may not be necessary. I concur with the findings of ShroomGod - that if RH is above 40%, you need to use a desiccant.

...depending on the RH!
If you live in the Amazonian rainforest, and RH is 90%, it doesn't matter how long you fan dry them for, they won't dry!
If you live in the Nevada desert, and RH is 2%, you probably don't even need to fan dry, they'll dry really quickly!
The length of time needed to fan dry, whether or not you should heat the air in the humidifier, whether or not you need to use desiccant... all depend on your local ambient RH!

since the cold has set in and the furnace is running, drying times have gone down from 20+ hours to 10-12 hours, that's at 95 in the all american harvester food dehydrator.
