When scratching your casing, how deep are you supposed to scratch? Are you supposed to scratch all the way through the mycelium?

how would pulzerising the middle of the cake by taking a fork and turning, i ask because i read the zoodoo tek and dont have a drill

how would pulzerising the middle of the cake by sticking in a fork and turning, i ask because i read the zoodoo tek and dont have a drill, also could i take a straw and push it all the way through or just part way through (how many times and where) and also what would i do strings of myc from the straw?

Hi
main goal of deep scratching is to carry oxygen and light to
mycellium if it has not spread or badly spread throught the
top casing layer
take a fork, sterilize with 90?+ ethanol and gently scratch the layer to the mycellium.
You can remove some of the layer.
You give the mycellium "contact points" with the oxygenate,
lightened and humid outside.
