Liquid Myclium Transfer
    #2128351 - 11/21/03 08:46 PM (20 years, 2 months ago)

Is it possible to make some Liquid M via the honey jar tek, then expulge some of the myclium and transfer to other honey jars? Theoretically I would like to take a few spores, start some Liquid M in one jar then transfer this all around so I can multiply my outcome.

Also, I posted a question earlier about contaminated spores via green mold in my casing. If i were to inject these spores still not knowing if they are contaminated or not, into a honey jar, would I know fairly soon if I was contaminated? Don't know if that makes sense...

thanks dudes and dudettes,

yellow sub

I would assume, because then you would have live mycelium in your syringe, so I see no reason why it would not continue to grow. But your contamination risk would be much, much higher. Why not just do one large jar?

yes. you can extract a syringe of tissue from one jar and transfer to as many other jars as long as u know its uncontaminated. the advantage to this would be the ability to add peroxide to the jars after sterilization to keep out contaminates. it wont hurt living mycelial tissue so as long as u can produce one "clean" LC u can easily transfer to other jars without much chance of contams.
good luck
