hey wussup everybody, i just got done sterilizing my 12 1/2 pint jars with substrate material in them. i used both pressure cooker and the regular boiling method in a pot. i p/c'ed for 45 mins and boiled the rest for about an hour. i used tin foil to cover the tops of the jars when cooking up the substrate.
-Question: after letting the jars cool i took a peek and found some condensation underneath the tin foil, on the lid of the jar, is this alright?
-is it alright if i remove the jars from the p/c ?(theyre pretty col to the touch)
-i have a question about the air exchange for the fruiting chamber- how big of a hole do i make for the co2 exhaust?
-its an 18 gal rubbermaid container-should i make the hose from the fish tank air pump to come in the terranium from the top or from the side opposite from the co2 exhaust hole?
-will the moistened perlite create enough humidity in my terranium? if so what portions of water/perlite/hydrogen peroxide do i use(its an 18 gal rubbermaid)?
-oh and do i still have to cut a hole in the nontransparent lid of the container for plexiglass, if the sides of it are clear?
oh yeah and I LIVE IN HAWAII if that helps with the questions that i posted.
i'd like to thank all of you here at shroomery you guys rock.
mahalos to you all
alohas peace love and ganjah.

the condensation underneath the foil is fine.
if the jars were cool, you were fine to remove them from the pc.
your other questions I'll let the others address, since I only have used a clear glass aquarium and fan it manually. However, if the sides are clear and the top is opaque, you're kinda going about things backwards. Your shrooms will grow, but not upright. Next time, consider an opaque container with a clear lid.
so far, tho, so good.
good luck.

The condensation is ok ,you can move them from them from the p.c. As far as the incubator or fruiting chamber -q- you should wait a bit , make sure there's no contams.

Aloha. Why don't you just grow outside? If I was back in the land of bikinis and waves you bet your grandma I would just let nature take care of itself. I can't think of a better environment to grow shrooms in that the islands unless your like on top of a mountain in the jungle.

Lets see, somebody has already covered the condensation.
Not sure about your concept of Co2 exhaust, somebody with more experience in pumping out Co2 might handle that, I will say though just fanning with the terrarium lid is effective enough. (Not if you want to bring your process to a more automatic low maintenance one though)
Don't know anything about whether you should put the pipe to this hole or that.
Moistened perlite will be sufficient. Its really a matter of experimentation as to the level of water you need. Don't worry, its hard to go incredibly wrong with this, you can always remove perlite if you get too much humidity and you can always add more.
No you do not have to provide a plexiglass window if you can see in sufficiently.. heh.. If you were fanning you would get a good look at your stuff anyway, each time you fan.
Good luck.
