Psilocybe subaeruginosa tek 1

hi everyone
Does anyone have substrate and/or casing suggestions for subaeruginosa?
Psilocybe subaeruginosa is a common in the wetter parts of australia, such as victoria and tasmania.
It is sometimes found near cubensis, but it occurs in shaded wooded areas and amongst leaf debris and decomposing plant and wood matter.
At present im considering a rye substrate, as this has worked for others. but im unsure about casing perhaps:
top-peat/vermiculite /topsoil
bottom- perlite
Or would the teks on psilocybe azurescens and/or cyanescens be worth a try?
ie sawdust and or wood chips in the casing.

Thanks for that sounds reasonable, as this species fruits in winter when temperatures are 10-15 degrees celcius.

Gday! If you do a search there is a bit on growing Australian native woodlovers such as Ps. Subaeruginosa and Ps.Australiana. I found the later to be the only aussie native that was aggressive enough to colonise a alder-woodchip based substrate quickly and effectively - these cultures were all of wild-picked mycelia that i had transplanted to a myc.baggie.
From these im making beds similar to azurescens/ps.cyanescens and other woodlovers...
Incidentally, where did you pick your subs? I found lotsa subs, Australiana, and Ps.Cyanescens around my area as well as a few unidentified psilocybes - ill pm you further with the details -

Since Ps.Australiana and Ps.Subaeruginosa have now been demonstrated to be the same mushroom - my above statement is a load of shite I would suggest soaking eucalypta chips, but pine wood chips and bark should work okay. They will fruit off pinebark alone. Mix up some jars of pine bark, verm and a bit of rye flour to speed things up, innoculate with an agar wedge, then when fully colonised, use this t spawn larger quantaties of eucalypta, pine and other assorted woods - alder and other hardwoods dont seem to support fruiting however.

Sorry to dig up an old thread guys, but i'm about to try growing subs too. Would people recommend using a perlite and pine casing as opposed to just dunking and rolling the cakes in pine bark and sitting the cakes on foil in a terrarium like in the pf tek?
Also speaking of pine bark, the source i'm looking at has two sizes: 6-10mm or 12-20mm, what would be preferable or would either work fine?

Hey Javadog I am working on this type (Psilocybe subaeruginosa) and looking for info on how to get the BRF to fruit. Say your post - Mush Cult for posts by user "Olive"- but am new to this site and don't know where to look. Sorry for the dumb question but would appreciate your help.

Bobwastaken fruited jars of them indoors in his minifridge setup. The fridge build is in his sig.
If I was to attempt subs this would be the way.
