I have two questions... How do you innoculate if you have already sealed the bag? and Can you purchase the sealer or bags from any normal stores...wally,target,hd etc?

You can expect 3-4 flushes depending on strain. Most of the weight is in the first 2 flushes. You will need to contact compiler@sporeworks.com in regard to discounts on large orders. To clarify: The bags are prefilled, sterilized and sealed. Inoculation is through the bag with a syringe and then taped closed (older version) or injected through a self healing injection port (new version, Spore Works exclusive). The empty bags are standard filter patch mushroom cultivation bags found at most mushroom cultivation equipment suppliers. They are not available at Walmart or other similar stores, they are a specilized item. You might be able to modify oven bags to work, but they don?t have a filter patch and are of a thinner material. In order to make your own self contained myco-bags you should have a pressure cooker, autoclavable filter patch bags, impulse sealer, substrate and a Hepa filtered work area to seal the bags after sterilization.

I innoculated 4 of your bags 5 days ago. They have been kept at around 72-74 degrees. I see zero sign of germination yet. Is this "normal"?

The bags stay sealed until you harvest the first flush. Then you mist and tape closed again and wait for second flush

That is cool how you give the instructions on how to make the bags workman. Now I feel bad for saying the bags are too expensive. Clearly you are marketing to people who want to pay for convienence. I have gained more respect for your already respectable business because of your openess. I was always a little pissed that dung brothers never revealed their recipe. I?m not saying everyone needs to reveal their secrets but if you are going to charge so much for a product like the bags or DB?s compost, you ought to offer alternatives to those who really can?t afford to spend so much but would like to get comparable results.

Now 7 days and no sign of germination. Am I being impatient?

Swami raise the temp to about 78 to 80 and tape the box shut for a few more days and you should see some. If not then you may have gotten a dead syringe.
