impulse sealers

Was just wondering if impulse sealers are really necessary or is the pillow case method of pasterization more foolproof and forgiving since you have a little more control over water content as far as being able to sqeeze it out if it need to be. I thought about getting a sealer and possibly use bags but is that more of a waste of money on gagets?

I got an 8" impulse sealer on E-bay for $25 delivered I haven't received it yet but I am hopeful that it will work well

I just won an auction for a 12" heat sealer on ebay last night. It was only $30.00 plust $20.00 for shipping. It is from a company called Heat Sealer Inc. Is this where you got your 12" from? I assume a 12" is all a person needs since that is the standard size Fungi Perfecti sells. I can't wait to get it.

I can't believe how inexpensive these are compared to the normal $200.00 price tag other companies sell them for.
