I can pasteurize myself, but it's snowy out and I can't find more poo in the pasture. Anyone want to sell me some or know where to get any other than TennStud?

Don't really need any fancy pellets, just plain dried regular poo, it doesn't even HAVE to be shredded.

Some people probably want a lower price than certain vendor's charge for manure...

Any "manure" will not work. It takes a good eye & experience to know which will. Even then, If you consider the time, labor & cost involved in gathering, aging, drying, shredding, then packaging. The vendors here charge a fair price.
But, hey. If you have a free source & know what works & how to prepare it. Go for it.
Some folks cannot find & just don't have a free source.

Right...
If it's a horse, and that horse shits, and it's dry shit, and it eats a normal horse diet, it's fine. Don't need no fancy unicorn crap to grow some mushrooms.
No one can tell me that picking up some horse shit while smoking a joint and preparing it is some kind of extrenous amount of hard labor for the price that some charge around here.
Ripping people off is not cool. Just because someone might not have a source, that is no excuse to charge entirely too much on some fucking digested straw.

the price the vendors charge for the poo they sell is just fine. if its too much for you then...don't buy it. I buy shit from Mike all the time. He has even lowered his price recently since he was getting such wonderful business. Supply is meeting demand just fine in this case. If you dont have the few dollars it takes to get some poo from both these vendors then you need to graduate highschool and get a job.

I don't buy crap online, it's easy enough to find 2 miles away.
If you think you know anything about my scooling or job nature; then you're in for a big surprise, pal. I have no need for new mycology supplies or online poo, anyways. What I DO have a need for is the ability of new mycologists to emerge into the field, and they can't do that if they're getting over-charged like people try to do in so many aspects of this field.
I speak from experience and for the amateur mycologists out there who a lot of the time can't even afford to build a proper fruiting chamber. Do you think it's ok to over-charge flat broke people? I don't.
And how do you know price lowering wasn't done because of LOW business? I never even mentioned anyone specific, but all of the places I've seen charge too much. Really, most of the time farmers will give you a truck-full for free and have you over for dinner. You've obviously never ran a business before or you'd take this into consideration.

Obviously, you've never ran a business either. Our sponsor that sells horse manure does so at a fair price. It's fair, in being that his customers are willing to pay the established prices, because he provides a product that involves a decent amount of labor. It's not as simple for most as driving to a farm and picking a truckload up. Have you ever heard of the city? It's a place with tall skyscrapers and no farms in sight. Imagine an amateur mycologist that lives in the city, trying to get his/her hands on some manure for the purpose of this hobby, and I'm sure you can piece the rest together.
Your opinion doesn't matter here, because once again, the customers determine if a business is worth running, not you. One person spouting their uninformed opinion doesn't constitute the customer base.

Holydiver: I haven't? Sorry, but I've ran many, successfully. I haven't worked for anyone in years but myself.
It does not involve more than a day's labor for many orders to be filled easily. If you think printing off shipping labels and making a drive is major business labor, think again.
A customer who doesn't buy from your business because of "x" is one of THE most important ones to listen to. Take some classes and you'd know this.
goofy98: Personal insults because I want people to emerge into our field even if they don't have money? Wow. That's about as classy as your English skill.

Simply...If you can find it for free, and you know how to prepare it for your needs go for it...why ask? Nobody is twisting your wallet to buy if you don't have a need. However, I don't believe you need to put down vendors for having a product that folks have a need for! If, you don't have anything to contribute...don't contribute anything!

Are vendors gods? Are we forced to buy from vendors? Then I don't have to have 100% loyalty to them. Just because they're on Shroomery doesn't mean they control the entire mycology industry. I'm telling the thread starter to be aware of pricing. If they don't like throwing money away (like most) then I bet they'll listen.
