I just tried this at home, and let me tell everyone DONT. I wrapped the bulb and a dimmer switch in tinfoil, and when the bulb heated up it melted all the plastic on the dimmer switch, which dripped down through the edges of the tinfoil onto my incubator, melting a hole in it. I don't even know why I was supposed to wrap a dimmer switch in tinfoil, I think it would have been OK without it.

PS: Not so dummy proof after all, is it?
