Well I cant see any science behind it, but I'm not going to say no. It could be caused by allergies, or maybe you just don't get a good enough nights sleep. I smoke weed daily and I don't have any darkness under my eyes, nor does anyone I usually smoke with. Not sure man, maybe ask your doctor if you feel comfortable letting him/her know you burn it. I don't think they can release that information anyways.

Kwik, I'm not sure about the kind of sleep you get when you're stoned, but I know that when you are drunk, your body skips over the REM stages of sleep, and when you wake up in the morning, you are still tired because your body lacks the REM stage, and will try to get it back. So technically, you could be over tired without knowing it. Try going to sleep sober, and see if that does anything.
Not sure if Marijuana affects different sleep cycles though, just a hunch, because I know that a lot of heavy smokers have this problem.

i was just throwing that out there. mine get red to the nth degree. sometimes i get dark around the eyes some days, its prolly b/c of lack of sleep and what not or maybe, i figured, it was correllated with redness, increased blood flow, who knows what. Some people say that the redness is an allergic type reaction, which i somewhat believe b/c good eyedrops are typically "eye allergy relief" ones. But i digress, its good that your eyes dont get red. Maybe your not allergic to pot  infact, new thread!

I would be willing to bet it's from not eating healthy, or not drinking enough water. Smoking that much weed has got to dehydrate the crap outta you. Try drinking a bunch of water or fruit juice for awhile. Smoking so much weed might be making your eyes black, but you could probably find other ways to make it better other than slowing down on the smoke.

i get red eyes, red around my eyes and...
when i go to sleep high, i wake up tired
when i go to sleep drunk, i wake up groggy
when i go to sleep sober, i wake up pretty sharp and happy
won't hurt to take a few nights of sobriety and test it out, and also maybe start tryin some eye moisturizer when u smoke
if your like me, and by your avatar you look like me (20 yr old college partier) i'd say try these things and start dosin on some brita water water is magic

I would say ask one of your girl, gay or metrosexual friends and they can probably hook you up with a product that will get rid of those dark circles pretty quick.

Well I smoke chronically and drink almost every chance I get also. I get the rings and it doesn't look to cool to show up for work all drugged out looking with bedroom eyes so what I found has helped is taking some vaseline I think mine is fortified with Vit E and Aloe and I apply it to the dark circles under my eyes all the way up to the bottom lid. That shit seems to make them alot less noticeable but they are definatley still there if you are looking for them. Also I think its a combination of malnurishment, lack of good sleep cycle (Weed\alcohol is thought to disrupt REM patterns not sure if this is true could anyone chime in?)and maybe even lack of excersize and just generally living an unhealthy life style and using a heavy regiment of drugs.

High there! i just did a google search on: dark circles under eyes from smoking cannabis? and your post came up.
man, i have totally been wondering about this because i've only recently started getting the dark circles and well yeah, it's only been a couple months since a really great ganja harvest so I really think there is some type of correlation. Also, there were some good replies to your post that make sense. The dehydration thing is most likely a tied in definite! I've always been a runner so consuming large amounts of water is reflex for me, but I do notice that when I smoke I don't drink near as much as I should.
And then the sleep thing. I get probably 7 or 8 hours of sleep at night too but I never ever remember my dreams if I smoked cannabis that day. So I'm thinking the person that mentioned lack of REM sleep and not getting enough actual rest could be on to something. REM sleep is when you dream, so because I really don't think I dream when cannaBliSSed out perhaps my eyes really are just quite tired.
I eat really healthy foods and take vitamins so I don't think that's really the issue.
Anyhow, I know you posted this a while back, but if you do read this please hit me back. I'm quite curious to know if you're still dealing with the circles and if so, any new ideas as to what's causing them? Perhaps there are certain blood types or body types that are effected differently?! Hmm, what's your sign, maybe that has something to do with it?! Nah, but definitely lemme know & keep keepin' on my friend! :o)
