 help!! black powder-looking stuff from under cap

Hey all!! Merry Christmas!!
I have a biiigggg question. I grew some shrooms on rice cakes - the pf tek method. Put them into a tank with some perlite to make it humid(stays at 99% !!)
The rice cakes are *beautifully* white, but when the shrooms grow, and the cap gets big(more than 1/2"), this stuff that looks like a black powder falls from under the cap. It's gotten all over the cakes. If you cut open the stalk, it's not black inside. It's only on the surface, which you can scrape off with a razor.
Has this happened to anyone?? I'm 90% sure they're safe, but I'm new at this, so I have to ask.
