Salvia as a mood-lifter?

Well I got ripped off, my salvia is definately not 18x, I'm pretty sure it's just the leaf. When I smoke it I get mild CEV's and trip a little bit, but I really have to force it.
Anyhow, I decided to make salvia tea and see what that would do. Well it seemed to have no effect, but that night I had some pretty disturbing and detailed dreams. The next day I woke up with a satisfied/content sort of feeling, and it lasted most of the day. This was a nice change due to the fact that I've been feeling a lot of anxiety lately.
Last night I chewed maybe 10 dry leaves before bed, and noticed the same disturbing dreams and mood lift the next day. Is this common? And would there be harm in daily salvia consumption if I decide to grow a plant? Because thats a feeling I really wouldn't mind waking up with every day, and I find the nightmares I get from it rather interesting as well.

Salvia extract looks more like tea not leaves so I would say you got ripped off. Daily consumption in small doses probabley wouldnt do anything, but it seems kind of pointless the whole point is to have an experience while awake. Get real extract and smoke.

The tea shouldn't have any of the divinorin in it, so those effects probably are coming from something else extracted from the leaf. IMHO smoking salvia creates some longish-term spaciness; I wouldn't recommend it daily. I'm not sure if the same happens from chewing leaves to trip... I didn't notice it...
The liturature mentions that some people get euphoric/well-being effects only by eating leaf, not by smoking it. I would tend to concur.
The plants are embarasingly easy to grow! Go for it.

if plain leaves are boiled and stirred then you get effects, but you need 50x as much leaf and even then the leaves, after drying, still have lots left in them only 20% comes out this way. but extract - well stirring would be critical, and if it is crude or dark extract the gummy stuff will probably not release enough particles into the water.
dreams yes I would have expected that, so you did get salvinorin into the water but less than a psychedellic threashold got into your blood.

Alright thanks to everyone for the advice. Odds are I'll just end up smoking what I have, and I'll try to get a hold of a plant to grow for regular consumption.
