straw contaminated with plastic - problem?

my wookie friend has found a huge bag of straw in the garbage and he took it to his house to use as subtrate but he has noticed that it contained also a little shredded plastic film and he wonders if he has to debug it entirely or if there should be no problems... thanks people.
