How would the Truth God react to the question: "If jeh is yes, is my name david scape?"

Would he be forced to answer yes or no? :confused:

I'm confused because in your first post you make is sound as if you can only ask one god one question and get one reply. But then later you make it sound as if you can ask each god a different question and get a reply from each of them. Which is it?

I'd ask any of them "Does your mother know you fuck barn-animals?" and leave the room, wondering what the fuck I was doing in there, and who the fuck those guys were, and holy shit what TOWN is this?!

edit: you didn't mention at the beginning that we were supposed to find out which one was the random one.... you just placed us in that situation with no goal lol :smile: Hence the above - I didn't notice until later..

lets see..

dude I can't even figure out how to solve this even though I already know that jeh is yes and neh is no.

Or can you ask all of the gods only one question (meaning you must ask the same question of each god) and get each of their replies to that same question?

EDIT:

If this is the case, then ask:

"If I asked you if neh meant yes, would you say neh?"

If neh means yes:

God of Truth = neh
God of False = neh
God of Random = neh or jeh

If neh means no:

God of Truth = jeh
God of False = jeh
God of Random = jeh or neh

You see, either way the God of False is forced to give the same answer as the God of Truth. And the way the question is worded means that if there are at least two neh's, then neh means yes and if there are at least two jeh's, then neh means no.

Does that solve the riddle, or no?

I got a similar solution from the question "Are you the Truth God?"
It will cause the affirmative answer to be repeated 2 or 3 times.

I don't think it's possible to identify all three Gods using only one question. Here is why. There are six possible permutations of the Gods' answers:

{Truth God, False God, Random God}
{Truth God, Random God, False God}
{False God, Random God, Truth God}
{False God, Truth God, Random God}
{Random God, Truth God, False God}
{Random God, False God, Truth God}

For each of these, there must be one or more possible sets of answers. Each such answer set must occur only once in order to uniquely identify all three Gods. And since Random God may answer either jeh or neh to any question, there must actually be two unique answer sets for each permutation. That's a total of twelve. But there are only eight jeh/neh combinations to choose from, so all twelve can't be unique. At least one answer set must be repeated, so there will always be cases where some God can't be identified.

Steve that's way better than anything I was coming up with but it still doesn't point out which "God" is the "God of Random," which I believe is the goal of this riddle..

The "God of Random" could answer the same as the other two, and then you'd still have no idea who was who.. hehe ARGH this is nuts!

My answer is that this riddle is not possible with the given information and restrictions.

Like ninja, I love puzzles. :smile: Have you heard of the "3 hats" puzzle?

The 3 gods puzzle is solveable, imo. I like the approach Steve and Riz have taken, and I got to add that I have a feeling the "god of random" is a decoy. Focus on finding the GoT and the GoF and the odd man out is the GoR.

I'm thinking about asking a question like "if she is GoF, then ... "

And as Ninja pointed out, there are situations in which the GoF will freeze, because of paradox. The ideal question will force the paradox.

Here's a question that will always elicit the SAME response from both GoT and GoF.

(Point at a god, any god and say)
*If I were to ask you if this is the GoT, would you reply in the affirmative?*

(leaving aside GoR for the moment ...)

"In a room there are three gods.

The god of Truth.
The god of False.
The god of Random.

You may ask any god one question. The god of Truth always tells the truth,
the god is False always tells a lie, and the god of Random gives you a
random answer. You receive only one answer from one god.

Each god responds with either "jeh or neh"

You do not know which god is which, and you do not know if "jeh" means
yes or no, nor if "neh" means yes or no.

Asking only one question, figure out which god is which and what response
means yes/no. "
------------------------

Based upon the stage you have set, this is what I would do.

Please note:  I am identifying the god of False as the god of Lies..

I'd enter the room very aware of the three gods' presence: knowing fully well that of the three one of them is that of Truth, Lies and Randomness.

I've realized  that I  CANNOT understand their language..    :lipsrsealed:

So, I would ask, no... not  ask, rather,  state the following to all three:

" If you three are all gods, one of Truth, Lies and Randomness, then please, Identify YourSelves with a singular episode of Lightning and Thunder !!!"

The god of truth would make it happen as asked...  the response was, then: "jeh";  the god of lies would seemingly agree but nothing would happen...  the answer, therefore would be: "neh";  and the god of randomness would make a random PATTERN of a beutifully orchastrated display of Thunder & Lightning...  Odds are, 1 or 0  is not random enough...

:kiss:  I would then thank them for interacting with me, and I would leave.

Tak co je ?

:crazy2:

It's easy to make the Truth God freeze also. Just ask "Is the Random God's answer the same as the Truth God's?"

If the Random God's answer is negative, the Truth God will freeze. But even if we extend the possible answers to jeh/neh/freeze, I still don't see how there can be enough information to identify all 3 gods and the meaning of jeh/neh.

I do not have an answer! The mushrooms asked me, and when I replied that I did not know, the mushrooms told me to ask my spiritual and philisophical friends. I have faith in there being an answer, I've been searching for 2 years though. It sucks!

I agree with the others who have already said that there isn't any way to answer this.  Too many variables.

Maybe there is meaning in the inability to answer this.

Not everything has answer?
Randomness, or chaos, has as much bearing as truth?
Or maybe, they were just fucking with your head.  :shocked:
