Does this sound like a good idea (i.e. plausible):

If I were to cultivate some cakes up untll their birthday, and then was to place the cakes among some dirt and leaves in a non-travelled section of a small wooded area, what do you think the chances of (some or all of) them maturing and developing mushrooms.
Assumptions:
- 12 cakes to start out with
- cakes are free from contamination when placed in their new home
- its summer, rather than winter

they wont fruit in the summer, they will in the fall or next spring more likely. If you are in the states, species other than cubenis would most likely work the best.

i'm kinda confused. if you travel there then it would be a traveled part of the woods. and if you travel there then there is a 98.7 % chance that other people will be there sometime too.. it says so right in The Mushroom Cultivator. they probably wont survive too long because of all of the people that will be there .. which sux cause if ya think about it .. they wouldnt even be there if it wasnt for you .
