Parenting is like dog training only more complex. But the same principles apply. Discipline and love and respect. And I agree with you that it is a lost art if it ever was in the first place. People who can do it to some extent, (like Hue) are rare IMO. This really is a spoiled out of control generation for the most part it seems. I work in a public place so I see how parents and children interact. Many parents seem to be afraid of their children and afraid of what others will think if they discipline them at all. These tiny little kids are in charge of their parents. I can tell you what that does to the equilibrium of a dog when he doesn't know weather he is supposed to be alpha male or not. He goes nuts and his/her stress levels go through the roof.

Immature means young and undeveloped. I did not say you were immature. An idea can be immature due to the fact that the person who had it has not yet been expossed to a wide range of experience in that area. Just as my views on quantum theory are immature because I am not a physicist, your view on parentuing may lack because you may not yet be a parent. I have been a parent for 18 years.

"You ARE more open-minded the younger you are."

Merely a common misconception held by young people...though I am not yet old. Many young people have opinions and ideas that lack inflexibility, just as many older people do.

Damn straight. I know many good parents. I don't like all of them or their views, but they understand responsibility. There are many bad ones as well, but most are adequate.

Uh, parenting is like dog-training ? That sounds very scary to me.
But ok, as long as they are not trained to make piruettes or trained to bite anybody on demand, I will get over it

I used to train dogs for a living and let me tell you there are just as few people who can train a dog as raise healthy children.

A well trained dog is pure pleasure. He feels calm and relaxed and knows he has a place in the pack and what that place is. He does not need a leash wherever you go and you can count on his behavior. The bond is one of instinct and love.

Hehe, yes, I see you points as I am virtual dog, too

All I wanted to say is that kids should not end up in circus or war just out of love for their 'dominators'.
As with children, I think it is very important to let form out the character of the dog.
Support his being and he will support yours, imho.

i agree with wut u say. but theres also people who really think about wut they are creating. plus think about it. we have that gift for a reason. to give life and keep our human nature by surviving and evolving that way, . its sad that theres some people who are just plain ignorant and dont raise children in a proper way. and in the future those children dont value the beautiful gift we have, cuz their parents didnt have it in the first place. just ignorance... thats all thats killing the beauty of life...
