ahh! 1 hole left untaped...please help

What's up. I've got 6 innoculated in the incubation stage. all but 1 jar is colonizing, but that could be the slow one. Anyway, for some ungodly reason i forgot to tape 1 hole on 1 of my jars. The strange part is that it's colonizing faster than the rest. It almost blew me away when i compared it to the other 5, it's not showing signs of contamination, but i fear it's just too soon to tell. Has this happened to anyone in the past, is there anything i should worry about. I taped the hole back up. I'm concerned moisture will be a problem in that jar even if there ends up being no contamination. What do you all think?

It should be ok. The air is not contaminated as most people think. I don't even use holes, I jsut take the lid off and innoculate.

But you might want to cover the hole just to be on the safe side.

Most likely the one jar in six that colonized faster did so BECAUSE the hole in the top wasn't taped.

Normally it's not advisable to remove the tape until the jar is nearly fully colonized. Many people remove the tape when they find the bottom of the jar isn't colonizing as quickly as the sides did.

In your case, I'm guessing you got away without contams and the air circulation inside the jar sped things up.

That PF tek guy/girl really was a thinker! The vermiculite barrier works, huh?

Thank you KINDLY gentlemen....this is my first grow by the way, and I've actually never eaten shrooms before. i innoculated with Golden Teacher.....was this a good choice?
