My computer is royally fucked...
    #4997974 - 11/30/05 10:40 AM (18 years, 5 months ago)

I have been screwing with it for the last 3 days.

Right now, my computer is so crap,....
1) after about 5 minutes of use after reboot, my mouse becomes invisible. I can still use it, but cant see it.
2)If i open up any program, i get a virtual memory warning, even though i have allocated plenty of space for virtual memory.

Anyone?please.....

Could be spyware, as Hella suggested. Some crapware can be real resource hogs.

If that doesn't work, try reinstalling the mouse drivers and checking out how much HD space you may have left.....

Assuming your virus defs are up to date and you've scanned your computer...

Sounds like maybe your processor cooling fan is not working right, or your processor is cooked.

I'd try this before buying a new processor (and fan)- clean the cooling fins on the heat sink.

Also, disable VM altogether, defrag your HDD, then re-enable your VM and let Windows pick the size. What this'll do is, fix your swap file if it is corrupted. Swap files are not treated like regular HDD space so you need to do a defrag w/VM disabled to make sure windows has to create a new one from scratch. You could just delete the swap file from a dos prompt if you are using win 9x, or if you boot from an install cd, etc.

There's a patch you can dl that fixes every known issue with all versions of Windows. I think it is called Linux.

Definately sounds like spyware.

some very useful programs which i use to keep my system "in shape" are

Spy-Bot: Search and Destroy (spyware scanner); Avast! (resident virus scanner); Hijack This! (Exellent scanner for browser hijacks); and Ad-Aware (another spybot detecting prog which works good with spybot)

all of which are completely free to download.
