Not hallucinogenic but grows like cubes?

Does anyone know of an edible species (not hallucinogenic) that has the same growth parameters as P. Cubensis? i.e. incubation and fruiting temps.

I've been researching this a little but its slow going. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hell I'd like to know this as well! I'd like to have a strain on hand that grew like cubes do, so that I can have something innocuous growing in my mycology closet, justifying all the equipment in there and making it so as to not be suspicious if someone came across it.

Once they'd eaten some yummy edible shrooms that they saw me pick, they'd leave me the fuck alone about it.

Well wouldn't it be a place to start by looking for other mushrooms that grow in the same locations as Cubes naturally the same time of year? I had the same thought about having a Decoy op

pholiota nameko (click me) is worth a look. woodbased substrates, but similar growing conditions.

shitake will grow on regular pf cakes. use plug spawn. 1 plug right down the center.

Awesome!  I love shiitake. :heart:  They are a good source of protein for vegetarians (all 9 amino acids).

All I've read says to grow them from a log, which could take almost a year.  But hey, why not from PF Cakes?  How long is their growth cycle on a cake?
