i was just wondering what is everyones prefered method of birthing their cakes, casings or cakes straight from the jar. which of the two have a higher success rate, take the longest, get contaminted more often, and so forth...thanks

well.. cakes are the easiest, you just birth and then place in the terrarium. Casing is slightly harder, takes longer, but gives bigger flushes.. and there are so many alternatives (straw, peat, coir, grains etc). So, when just starting out, try cakes. After you fruit cakes a few times, you can start trying your hand at casing.

Case your cakes for better results. It only takes a minute to slap some wet verm around it and you'll be glad you did.
