the perfect pasturizer? I may have the answer!!!!

well well. I was just reading the instructiions to my little chief fish smoker, and guess what, it works at a temp of 165 degrees! it is a aluminum box with a heat coil at the bottom, as well as removable shelves!
I could leave in only the bottom shelf and load a big pillow case of straw into it and let it run for 3 hours or so, what do you think? the heat element is designed to run at exactly 165 degrees, because when you smoke salmon, you have to pasturize it!
and the smoker even came with alder chips/sawdust
now for some questions
should I soak the straw overnight ibn a bucket of h20, then let the extra water drain off and put it in?
*or*
should I just load it in dry?

if the sign says dont pick the mushrooms, you should probably pick them

Sounds great if you don't have an oven...

I prefer a P-cooker my self.

Definitely soak, and make sure the straw doesn't dry out.

It sound perfect. How much volume can it handle?

yes it would and it will result in directly producing smaller flushes and the straw would contaminate easier

What if you put the straw in a pillow case and soaked it in the water in the p cooker like most folks do....leave the lid off...eehh.......then it wont be sterilized straw will it....itll be pasteurized!!!

Hehehehe

Funny!!
