Along these lines -- it brings to mind the convergence of many things -- that perhaps there are ghosts (I believe there are, but can't discount that I might be wrong) -- and perhaps they exist in your mind, are pre-existing spirits, are psychic impressions left by emotions ,are the remnants of those who have past on and are other-dimensional beings all at the same time. And/or none of that.

why wouldn't we want to do it when spirits are at their strongest? Are we not spirits in bodies?

Good point.

My girlfriend is into spirit and palm reading and shit, I am not into that kind of stuff really.

I do kind of believe in ghost tho, I mean, it could just be people get bored and make shit up in their head to make life more interesting (and perhaps that is why nothing happened when you got stoned, because your mind had more fun things going on) or maybe there really are spirits. Maybe its another dimension, and when you see a "ghost" its just a glance into that world, maybe there are some places where the things living there can see into other dimensions, or maybe there are beings stuck between dimensions? (Tell me if that made no sense at all and I will re-explain)

I am not saying that idea is right, or that the ghost idea is wrong, but just that you guys have to consider other possibilities, the argument isn't "is it ghost or not?" its "is it ghost, is it your mind, or is it something we haven't even thought of yet?" and that last one I think is more likely then the other two.

Who knows, maybe its aliens.

Oh also, (sorry, but I am at a hotel, and for somereason I keep getting the "cannot find server" error when I do certain things, like search on yahoo. Unfortantly editing on this site is also one of these things)

If you plan to contact ghost while tripping, use mescaline, it has a much lower bad trip ratio.

I once read a trip report (and if i remember right it was peyote, but I could be wrong on that) where this guy was walking down his street and he could see indian ghost or something. Just a thought.

Also, Don't Shamans use Salvia and Mescaline and Ayahuasca (among other things) for these reasons? Try that out, I bet you will beable to talk to the decapitated 6 year old that has been walking around your house during a DMT trip.

might be a good idea to have a downer on hand just incase.

I am still not sure on the ghost thing because some of the above posts mention wakeing up and being unable to move ect, which i think has something to do with one of the sleep states where your mind is awake but your body is still asleep.
I have has these in the past only with auditory hallucinations and there obviously
just a dream state.

Although recently I have woke up in the middle of the night fully concious and able to move and talk ect, and within seconds there was a knock on the door so i just said come in suddenly this blue glowing 27 year old woman holding a cat walked straight through the door and approached me she then gave me a message which i just cant remember, Then I decided to try and touch her hand to see if it was real and as I reached out she simple faded away, I know it wasent a dream as I checked my watch which usualy dosent work in dreams. I wasent realy scared just a bit what the fuck was that kinda thing.

I have even had the same type of experience when i was about 5 only there was angles flying above my bed saying dont be affraid as this old man which looked like he was from a castle dungen was walking up and down the stairs. But tis was close to a castle near by. The thing is I simple do not beleive in angles, thats just silly. But could it be the way my mind percevied the entitys or it all just an hallucination.

It is interesting that alot of people "see" ghost when they just wake up.

From what I have heard (I am no where near an expert) there are certain parts of your brain that stop you from hallucinating, and when you sleep these things turn off, this is what allows you to have dreams.

One time, after being up all night, ( litterally all night, I only had half an hour of sleep) my alarm went off, I tried to turn it off, but the buttons broke, and my fingers pushed into the alarm clock. Noting that I broke my alarm clock, but being to tired to even care I threw my now broken alarm clock and went back to sleep. When I awoke again my alarm clock was in perfect condition (other then it being thrown againts the wall)

Now I know this was not a dream, my girlfriend had to sneak back into her room, and she did, and my alarm really went off, but obviously I hallucinated that the alarm broke on me, It is my theory that dispite me being awake (but just barely) the part of my brain that stops hallucinations had not yet turned on. When people awake to see ghost, is it possible that this might also be the case?

That is quite possible (the still being in dream mode theory), but my friend, lets call her N, has had a very bizarre case of a ghost in her old house. The weirdest thing was a friend of hers (note here that N hadn't told her friend anything about seeing a ghost in her house) was having a chat with N and they got to talking about ghosts. N's friend then mentions something about the ghost and describes exactly what the ghost looked like (a young girl, all dressed in white). No one else had told N's friend about the ghost, so how could she just have guessed about it? Strange.
Also, one time we spent the weekend at N's house, having drinks all weekend, etc. Anyways, since we're all drunk, and we know about the ghost in her house now, we dare people to go down to her basement and stand in there for a while.
Even before doing this, N's friend is freaked out for some reason. Turns out when she went to the toilet, she saw the ghost again. Now, we head down to her basement. Most of my friends actually saw her (the ghost) standing down there, but I went down there myself, and I didn't see anything. I saw a bunch of objects that could resemble a person, BUT no fully detailed white robed girl. While I was down there, another one of my friends came down, looks to his right, and just froze. Turns out he saw her.

Now, the whole thing has me slightly baffled. I'm not entirely skeptical that it doesn't exist, there's a possibility it did, but I'm rather annoyed that I personally didn't see a ghost. I have quite keen eyesight (I can spot things that other people just wouldn't happen to notice), so I'm sure I could have seen a ghost, had there been one. Even though it would scare the living shit out of me, I would just love to once see a ghost.

Im getting chills reading these as they remind me of my own situation.
Im not sure how to explain the presenses - they could be the spirits of dead people, but all i really know it that there are invisible people walking around in some houses!
I did find that the experiences were nearly always related to sleep. We wouldnt hear the footsteps, or other stuff unless we were falling asleep or just waking up. In that state between sleep and being wide awake. But due to the amount of witnesses and the fact that it has never occured before or since i have moved from this house, id say that it was a real phenonema rather than some sort of construct of the sleeping mind.

It gave me the chills just typing it up! It's seriously something that really baffles me and creeps me out. The only ONE time I've seen something was when I was standing in my kitchen having a drink of OJ and I was staring out the kitchen window. Anyways, as I'm staring, I see a faint glowing white face that moved towards the window and then vanished. That absolutely scared the shit out of me because I didn't know what I had seen, nor was I saw if it was indeed what I thought it was. I know it wasn't a car headlight, because the window faces away from the road, and it was very early in the morning, and I hadn't heard any cars drive past.
That same girl, N, also had experienced seeing a ghost (a black spirit) at her previous job. She told me one night as I was dropping her off, and everyone else at work knew, because they had seen it themselves. Gave me the shivers hearing about it.
