Accu rite gauges

I have two accu rite digital thermometers plus humidity gauge, it has a sensor that is attached to the read out unit by wire. Has anyone ever used these before. They are extremely accurate on temp. but w. humidity it wasn't reading anything inside my terrarium after 2 inches of perlite and a 2 pints of water. When I took it and put it in there and told it to measure inside instead of out. The humidity shot from 48 to 81 right now and is still rising, Anyone have any experience w. these?!? Thanks!!!

dude, the little thingy on the end of the wire only reads temps.

the wire reads approx.2.5 degrees lower than actual temp..

My friends s&m midgets also have 2. The temps are good. The humidity is somewhat off, but in the park enough to trust. The guage was accurate to a degree that, as far as humidity, that I would trust as an approximation. If it says 81 than its ~81 somewhere, give or take. Close enough

Also, when the humidity is over 90%, it just says HI

i bought two of em, both at walmart!!! just like the person a few posts before this one said, when the humidity got above 93 or so it just reads "Hi", is it a problem to have the humidity too high? I've got about 1 1/2 inches of perlite w. around a quart of water, it's sooooo humid!! Also, do I need to fan the cakes 4 times a day still even though they're not pinning yet? Thanks everyone!!!!
