Well actually a temp job. But i'm stoked, because i'v been job hunting for a month. Haven't got one fucking call back. Knock over one convenience store when your 14 and it haunts you forever.
But anyway my friend called me today, and said if i came now it was pretty much garunteed.
So now i will be unloading boxes at the dollar store for $7 an hour.
pretty sweet huh?

It's great to have money...I never see mine (goes right into bills) but it still feels good.

fuckin A. I donate plazma, but $50 a week barely covers my entertainment budget. not very responsible.
i'm working to get this felony sealed off of my juvenile record. Its going to cost me almost $1000 in lawyer fee's. I am contacting the county clerks office, to see if i can plead my own case.
Once all that shit gets taken care of, i can work on getting a real job. I was thinking a security firm would be nice.

Minimum wage here in Canada is $8.50.
I refuse to work for under $10 an hour.

yea, i know. The first time i went job hunting i left the felony off all my aplications, and didn't get a call back untill sonic hired me.
This time, i put it on all the aps except the little companys that are to cheap to background check. I have applied to about 50 places and not one call back.
They hired me on the spot at the dollar store without any questions.
Once i get the felony sealed, i believe its not veiwable by anyone except government agencys.

Cost of living is higher up there, no?
min wage is 5.25 down here.
At this point, I would take a min wage job if i could find one. No food service tho. I'm never working a Mcjob again. I'll be dambed if i'm gonna get yelled at by a 15 year old girl who makes more money, and does less work than me.

how much does it cost you to run background checks for your company? is it a per aplicant thing, or a flat rate?

Im interested in what happened when you were 14 also. If I wasn't as careful as I was when I was younger, I could have been in the same boat as you I'm sure.

I was a juvenile delinquent back than.
One night after a party, i and another dude decided we needed more beer, so we walked up to the convenience store. I threw a big rock through the door, and stole an 18 pack. We went back, and drank it.
Than we decided we needed more, so we stood out in the road, and stopped cars. We got one to give us a ride accross town to the grocery store, walked out with a couple of six packs, and went accross the street. The cops promptly caught us.
I wouldn't have got caught for the burglary, but the other dude told a bunch of people, and i think snitched me out.
i did 8 months in bootcamp. Knocked the juvenile delinquent right out of me.

The jobs tight. Nice and easy work. Unloaded a truck full of boxes, and spent all day working with my friend, stocking cheaply made chinese nik-nacks.
The bosses seem cool. We got several nice long breaks, and they gave us all an extra 30 min on the clock as a Thanksgiving present.
It feels good doing something productive. I haven't worked in so long that it felt like i was picking cotton, heh, i'm so lazy.

Today, the boss told me, and my friend, that we were being hired on permanent!
I'm stoked. Thats what i'v been busting my ass for all week. I didn't think i would get it. Its sweet that i got a job with my friend. We work well as a team.
When the store opens up, it will really be a cake job.
I also got a call from a Hotel for an interview today. If everything works out right, i may get that job as well.

Yeah I just got a job too..It's shipping and recieving during the night shift which I don't like much.. I needs the money though..

no not really, but it's still cool that you'll be making cash! I know how you feel. I didn't work all last year and just lived off of my dad (which was cool because it was my first year in college). But after a while I decided I wanted some spending cash of my own and I wanted to save up for just in case.
Unloading boxes may be cool, but working at a slow-as-fuck giftshop in a fancy hotel for $7/hr is way cooler. I have tons of time to do my homework, and the hotel has wireless internet, so I can bring my laptop to work and surf the shroomery all day!
