8q presto is all ive ever used. I like it and see no need to go with anything bigger and more expensive. It gets the job done as well as can be expected from any other PC. The only thing you have to do is maintain the pliability of the rubber seal. I pull it out and a rub it down with mineral oil every week or so.

I'm sure you've already heard that an All American is as good as it gets for PC's. If you are sticking to this hobby for a long time and plan to do alot of jars, bags, plates, LC's, etc. I would try to get one. They're expensive, but you can find bargains if you look around.
If you don't plan on doing ALOT of PC'ing, then a Presto will work great.

P.S.- I would recommend getting at least a 22qt of whatever brand you choose. Almost everyone in this hobby eventually steps up to quart jars and the smaller sized PC's just don't cut it for that.

basically, if you ever want to do poo or grain, you're going to want a bigger cooker. to do poo, you should do grain spawn. To do grain, you should do quarts because you leave space in the jars for shaking and pints won't cut it. plus with a big cooker you can do bags, gallon jars, quarts of liquid culture, quarts or larger of agar to be poured, et cetera as was said.

I started orginally with a 6qt PC (don't even know the brand!). Then I got a 22qt Mirro. I kept up on the maintenance, but after about 6 months of serious usage, it wasn't sealing well and alot of steam would escape until it built up pressure. So I'd get a new gasket and it would be fine. 6 months or so later, same problem. This went on for a couple years.
I finally got fed up and bought an AA recently. Granted, I've only been using it for less than a month, but I can see with it's metal-to-metal seal, that I'm not going to ever have the same problems again.
