How long does it take for cakes to pin? Im growing some golden teachers. I have temp between 75-84F and about 92% humidity with 12 hrs of light a day(thats the reason for temp difference). But I cold shocked in fridge in water for 12 hours to help. Any advice will help(Im still working on getting my first succesful growth so Im a noob)

Try to get your temp more steady. And raise humidity about 5% if you can. Don't forget FAE.

Bullshit, it is technically possible for them to do that, but your looking at anywhere from 7-14 day on average to get pins.
Your posts still arent very helpfull XAX.

gotta agree with Hawks, I have never seen pins in that short of a time frame. A week minimum average for me, but maybe you are doing/know something that we don't.

Ive had pins within 5 my last grow but my first grow took 11 days to pin. If you get past the 14 day mark then you got something to worry about. How long have they been in your FC already?

I can tell you how i got em in 5 if you want. I did a 24 hr dunk in the fridge. Rolled in a dry Vermiculite. Then I double end cased (damp verm. base to sit on and damp verm. on top) I also had close to optimal conditions in my PMP.

My cakes and casing all pinned within the first week. My first 2 cakes pinned in 5 days. But again these were with optimal conditions. And that guy up there doesn't have optimal so he's going to be waiting a little bit.

seems like your on the roll. keep them in a 75 degree area, make sure you have 50/50 FAE. Also keep them on a 12/12 cycle for light and you should progress in a good week.

Like i said, it's not impossible, just improbable to get them in 3-4 days. I have never heard of anyone getting them that quickyly, and from what i see 5 tends to be the earliest and a week is average.

This is my first time growing. I put my first two cakes into my FC about a week and a half ago. They had 1 pin each on the morning of day 4 in the FC, and by day 5 one had 18 pins and the other had 6. All those have been growing fine, and there have been a few more pop up. I'm still waiting for my 3 other cakes to start pinning. I dunked two of em for 12 hours to see if it will make any difference.
