Easy way to clean mush after harvest?

After harvesting I have been cleaning the casing material off the base of my stems by running them under the tap and picking off all the verm and peat. This is a time consuming job even with a harvest of just a few hundred wet grams.
I notice from some pics around here there are some that have a larger appetite then myself. How would you go about cleaning all those mushrooms? Hired help? Some kind of mushroom gnome?

they actually clean off much easier after they are dried, pretty much just brushes right off, some trouble areas but for the most part not.

Hmm. I don't know what I'm doing wrong then. I find if I don't do it right away and it dries a bit then it's imposable to get it off. Maybe I'm just being a pansy who's scared of a little dirt.
Chicks eat these mushrooms...I may play with horse shit on my free time but when it comes down to it. I like to come of as a squeaky clean guy.

Absolute easiest way- just cut the very bottoms off. Any fuzz or verm or whatever shouldn't be that far up the stem. Works especially well with bulk- I'd rather cut an 1/8" off the bottom than eat poo and get glittershits!

this probably sounds dumb and obvious but ill say it anyway. i keep the thumbnial on my left hand long. i hold the mushie in my right hand and with the left i scrape the casing off, turn 90 degrees and scrape, turn etc... a fw quick scrapes and it over. you have to pick the mushies one at a time anyway, just do it as you pick, otherwise you get verm/poo on everything and you make a bigger mess than when you started. and it stains your nail blue!

Well THAT has been my method so far. It's time consuming. I was just wondering while I stood at the sink slowly working my way threw just a "few" mushies. How could someone with a huge bulk harvest do it? I guess just cutting them off would be the quickest. If you have more mushrooms then time...

I clean them the best I can after I pick them, then it's easy to flick off what's left when they're dried...

it sounds like youre picking them, and carring them to the sink to clean. you have to pick them one at a time anyway, just cleam immediatly after picking. you dont even need water. thats as easy/fast as it gets i think, but i have spent hours just picking and cleaning mushrooms... but it never bothered me, how could i be bothered by a bountiful harvest.

Yea, I just pick them all off, then throw them on the table. Then I just clean them all right there. Wipe the crap off the table into the trash, wash the table... done.

I leave them to dry then the casing is like dust. If I was growing on uncased poo I would consider cutting off the bottoms and doing an extraction.

I usually do the sink thing too, cuz I'm really picky and don't want to swallow anything except mushroom when I dose.
MMMMMMM! Clean shrooms:
Takes longer to dry, but they sure are yummy!

watching too many german scheizer videos
I eat baked potatoes with the skins on, some of them are probably grown in manure too, with traces still on them.

I've worked on a potato farm. These were sold as "washed" potato's. The water they get "washed" in nastier then the poo tea left over from the pillow case tek. Dead mice in the water too! Oh ya BTW. Strawberry's. Get pissed on daily. Tobacco, Pissed on. Cabbage...you don't even wanna know. That's what you get with underpaid seasonal workers. Maybe I shouldn't worry too much about a little verm and peat on my mushrooms.
One of these days I'm gonna be living a log house in the woods completely self sufficient. Climbing to the top of tree's to manically laugh at the world.

For a large harvest, folks I've known just cut and throw the poo dipped portion away. No need to worry about the few grams lost due to quality control. For a dealer, bag appeal is everything.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I guess I got the answers I was expecting really. I can't believe I never thought to use a tooth brush before tho. So, More mush then time- snip them.
Got no time so rather eat a little doo doo then lose weight- Brush them clean after drying.
Think eating dirt is icky but don't want to lose weight- Spend the time to wash them off.
WASH ALL YOUR VEGGIES! And don't smoke! Living in the woods = too much masturbation
I guess that sums it up.
