All this talk and thoery is wonderful, but without action, it means nothing in our system, please use this thread to come together on a local, state, or national level to bring about change. Organize petitions (they do work ex:Prop 36) Rally, MAKE SOME NOISE, or at least get plastered in a pink 80's party dress. The Time is NOW, don't wait till it's too late. Ashcroft is already trying to stop us from speaking out, don't let the opressors make another move, Our Liberty will not be stripped from us!

It includes all sources except salary.
With public access to all bank balances of anyone serving office at any level. As well as a list of assets for ten years after leaving office.

wouldn't that violate the first amendment rights of contributers?...who would pay for ads on tv?..who would regulate who gets a "deal" when it comes to tv ads (like the libs usually get)

Yoko Ono is the fucking Devil.
Campaign reform, ok. No tv ads are necessary at all. The three big networks should have debates on a regular schedule featuring the candidates. If the race became less of a "who has the most money for tv ads" game, we might get some quality 3rd party candidates and some change around this country.

What does the first amendment have to do with it? Freedom of speech, expression, or religion. Not sure how this would violate any of these.
Television ads are not necessary. Televised debates should suffice. That guy up ahead of me there said that already but I thought it was worth repeating.

First let me say that I don?t have big enough balls to call myself a full fledged Gun Toting Libertarian, I?d fall under the category: Civil Libertarian, pretty much all the personal freedom associated with legalizing victimless crimes such as anything associated with consenting adults and; Drug use, Prostitution, Sex laws , marriage, Charity, personal investment, and everything else Gov. has no business being in. The LP Economic platform in principle I agree with, but in practicality, it would probably bring about the end of the civilized world as we know it.
the 1st Amendment states that:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
I do not understand why the majority of the population including respectable organizations such as the Cato Institute and even the LP see
Gov as the same thing as a private enterprise or for profit business or the same as an individual. Gov. is none of this, therefore it seems to me that Private interest Contributions to Political Establishments isn?t even possibly included in the 1st Amendment. If someone thinks otherwise, please explain, because it confuses me dearly. Elections are such a crucial part of maintaining a real democracy, we can justify having regulations on campaign financing in order to maintain equal opportunity for all political voices, and it?s not Unconstitutional because Gov is it?s own entity.
What we can do?
Well, when I started this thread, I must admit I was a little Crazy Euphoric (ala tweek) I failed to admit that any kind of political movement, even petitions, requires MONEY, even if we don?t have support, we can buy the support. (now I sound like the very thing we are trying to stop) but we may have to fight fire with fire, because the Two Party System has set it up that way. So if anyone is Independently wealthy, please let me know, or if anyone can use the thing in their heads to innovate a new way to start a revolution, please let me know.
One Idea that has always been a sick and twisted fantasy of mine is to come to power using force and establish a Libertarian Dictatorship and force people to think for themselves.
Any other Ideas? Please throw them in, Thanks, If I didn?t explain things clearly or just wasn?t coherent, please ask me to clarify. Thanks for your interest in saving the nation.
