ive got pins how long til shrooms

hi
I did some casing on the 5th i noticed on the15th that i had little white pins but they dont seem to be getting any bigger i know its only been a couple days but i thought they just took right off.am i just to anxious?? i also have one casing out of the terraium,it has about 100 pins but the substrate seems dry i put a little water in one spot to see what would happen and it didnt absorb it.so i put it in the terrarium with the other casing.
does the fact that it didnt absorb the water meen that i have overlay,i waited about 4 hours for it to absorb it.

Are you sure that what you have is pins? Only if they aren't getting bigger than they have either aborted or they are just hyphal knots (not pins). The pins should very quickly develop a very small brown cap, that is the top of the pin should have atleast a little browny colouring on pretty quickly.

If the apprentice cap goes darker, that is the sign of an abort, a mushroom that has quit growing. They are quite strong in potency though so if you get enough of them together you should get a decent trip out of them.
