I prepared a block from shredded straw normally used for cat?s pissoir(unused ;) ), and water that contained 0,5% H2O2(this is absolute, means if you have a 3% solution you?d have to take 5 parts water and 1 part of the 3% solution). I soaked the straw in a small excess of water then squeezed out the water that was too much. No pasteurizing or heating. Then I inoculated it with P. djamor spawn on rye. Filled in a spawn bag. Let colonize(I should have made some holes in the bag, it would colonize better, but...) Well, that?s the result.

>What do you call them? Pleurotus djamor aka pink oyster. >Are they good to eat Off course, they taste delicious stir fried. They are very fast to colonize and fruit, app. 3 weeks from inoculation till harvest.

MmmmMmmmmmm, those look good. Think I'll place an order from Fungi Perfecti for a culture of those after new years. Definitely looks like an edible suited to indoor growing with a minimum of environmental control.

Very nice work Anno. Isnt that very unusual to not peasteurize/sterilize the substrate and not get any contams? You say you soaked it in a solution of roughly 15-20 percent H2o2. How long did you soak for?
