Pink Floyd and the Rain
    #4936182 - 11/15/05 09:08 AM (16 years, 2 months ago)

This is just a note for all of you out there.  Before this winter season hits and you happen to get one last chance to see the rain fall I suggest listening to Meddle by Pink Floyd during a rain storm.  I swear everything about the album lines up with rain and storms.  Take a good couple of bong hits to get the full experience.

I had a crazy fucking experience once stoned and walking down the street, you could feel a storm brewing and the wind picking up and just as the screaming started in Great Gig in the Sky as I listened to DSOTM, a torrential fucking downpour came down. It was so good I just walked as slowly as possible and enjoyed getting soaked.

I would try it out. I LOVE the rain. I wish I could live somewhere that had really nice weather, but yet had a lot of rain as well. Then I would get a chance to listen to "Meddle" in the rain. In fact, I'd like to sit in the rain while "Meddle" plays from inside via a open window.

No kidding, Meddle is probably my second favorite PF album behind Dark Side.

The different genres on the album are done very well.  They do a little blues, jazz, and of course some trippy stuff too, and then there's Dave Gilmour's lap steel licks.

I love listening to DSOTM on certain ocasions, bacsically with all of there albums (except after the wall, then it goes down hill for me, some of it's still good but others, you wonder what they were thinking) it has to be a certain occasion for me to listen to them. ANIMALS and Meddle are one of the greater ones. Personally, I've grown into more of Syd Barrett's albums and his style. Hell, I just love the floyd!

Echoes is badass. It's a must listen for me when I eat shrooms. And that video of Echoes synched with the end of 2001: A Space Odessey is awesome.
