Most of what I have read says do not shock. Just lower to fruiting temps. Keep misting your casings, give them plenty of light.

mist cakes? lol, nah, don't mist the cakes. for cold shocking just wrap your jar or casing air tight in some plastic wrap and stick em in the fridge for 24 hours when the jar is fully colonized or casing is at 30% top layer covered.

that's it! then you birth them and give em light.

you posted in the wrong forum btw, this should be in the regular cultivation forum, cold shocking isn't advanced...lol

wouldn't 24 hours be kinda long?

"wouldn't 24 hours be kinda long?"

nope.. dude has left them in the fridge for days(with no problems) in the past when there was not enough room in his fruiting chamber.
