I've been trying to cultivate for a while now and i just cant seem to get any technique down that produces results.I tried Shroom Wizard first off and that was terrible failure....ended with lots of green mold.I then tried concentrated flour cakes and didnt even get growth in one damn jar.Now ive been experementing with rye berries with some luck but still no shrooms.I had one set of quart jars that were doing great until i tried transfer them to cake up but i killed all my shit.I went and tried the rye grain again and had decent growth till this yellow shit was building up on the bottom of my 1/2 pint jars.I just cant seem to find a good subsrate for cake culture that will work....ive spent way to much to back out now.I have a Hydro-pod to fruit but thats giving me shit too with low relative humidity...can't win...Any suggestions on teks would be awesome and any suggestions for incubation conditions and temps...as of now i go with 84'F...Please help

My suggestion would be to start with old faithful MMGG. Its pretty hard to completely fail with BRF and vermiculite. I suggest you use a syringe from a vendor so you don't have to make your own which could potentially expose your current problem.
Use a pressure cooker if you can. If you absolutely cannot then I might be able to suggest a sterilisation procedure with microwave and boiling that will probably do you some use.
You need to figure out what the problem is in each time you have tried. Substitute variables and see what happens.. experiment until you know more about your problem.

All the times i have attempted was with sterilized (cooked) jars.I think my water ratio is shit and i could use a good cake tek recipe for rye grain.I would like to do a casing but i already headed the way of cakes with the Hyrdo-pod investment.My jars i have done now are colonizing but have yellow shit on the bottom...any insight on this?

And again.
Then, after you have mastered it, try some more advanced stuff. Dont jump in to the advanced stuff, you'll surely fail. PF Tek will produce results if you do it exactly how it says.
I'm only just starting, but every time I've deviated from PF I've failed. I've done 22 jars. Only 6 have survived, and the ones I lost are where I tried something different.

With the Pf TEK how do you inoculate threw the top layer of vermiculite used to keep the contams out???

Definitely try the MMGG. Follow it to the letter. No presure cooker required. Use a cheap styrophome cooler with perlite for humidity. I also hand spray.

Since you're just NOT READING, again. . . . . . listen to razer and READ the PF TEK!! Read it again, read it again, and again (rinse and repeat.)
You know how there are instructions with those 'assemble yourself' tv stands and entertainment centers? The instructions always say "READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FROM FRONT TO BACK BEFORE ASSEMBLY." That means familiarize yourself with the tek first, apply later.
The tek is about as simple as you can get. Read it. If you don't understand any part of it, post your questions here. Hippie will respond, I'll respond, Anno will respond, and a score of others.

I would like to thank all you guys for all your help...I figured i would have to go back to Pf tek but i really liked the fast colonization of the rye...but im obviously not doing something right with that.Ill go back to Pf tek and i would like to say i have read that tek to many times to count so im not dumb to how that works...i just thought i would try the grain and its not working out so ill take the advice from the experts.Thanks again

Hey man, I was in your shoes a few weeks ago. Here is what I did. First, as a newbie, I started with a hard starin to grow and started casing right away, I thought I picked on things relatively quick, and this wouldn't be any different. But of course I failed miserably as well. If I were you, I would definitely get pre-mixed and pre-sterilized jars already packed with substrate and spores from ryche hawk, or wherever you get them and start out with b+. Thats what finally pinned for my first time, I never tried cakes either, b+ pinned for me as a beginner while casing, so you know b+ is a very forgiving strain. I suggest sporetradingpost.com for the substarte and ryche hawk for the spores. Good luck man, I know how you feel.

the thing that goes wrong the most with every shroom grower is contams. if you havent bought a pressure cooker, buy one. i have only had one contam problem since i bought mine.
