I find this quote to be briljant. I believe I first found it at a game site a few years ago and actually saw it as a (comical) argument against censorship:

"Computer games don't affect kids. I mean if Pacman affected us as kids,we'd all run around in a darkened room munching pills and listening to repetitive music."

Now, it makes me wonder...

ah, then it could be possible that I read it first here, cous I wasnt sure about where I read it first anymore...
but then that person must have had it for quite some time.

To get you more thinking
Do games affect our reality in a greater way we would think in the first place?
Another great excemple is the game, of which I cant recall the name, where you must shoot off incoming nukes with a defence system. Does this look like the anti-missle thingy bush wants to make?
And look at Tetris, how do buildings look mostly? Blocky!
And a more recent game, Command & Conquer (from 1995): this game begins with terorists attacks on a "grand trade center" (if I have understood it correctly). Then the war against the terorists starts...

Sorry dude, but all that quote does is point out a coincidence. You can't say that Pacman led to raves.
That's the problem with people who blame shit like kids who shoot up schools on violent games. Those kids do it because they're not right in the head, not because they played Doom.

And are you actually suggesting that those crazy arabs flew planes into the WTC because they played C&C?
