    #492637 - 12/16/01 04:50 AM (23 years, 4 months ago)

I've only grown cubensis so far but recon I should start to try someting a bit more adventurous. I tried Hawaiin Copendia Cyanenscens in Amsterdam recently and had an amazing mind altering trip. Has anyone tried growing these? and if so what are the best teks for growing them? Are thry difficult to grow?

Cheers

I'm trying cop. cyans. right now. My substrate consisted on a 50/50 manure and vermiculite, all i can tell you untill now it's that mycellium grows on very thin ryzomorphs , also ideal cubensis temperature for incubation (86F) is too high for a good colonization, i gave the jar only 82F and it's growth was accelerated.

Peace,
MAIA

Cope. cyans, also known as Panaeolus cyanscens, grows in nature on manure. Horse/cow manure is good.
It will also grow on straw and compost. Very good mixture are horse manure/straw. I like compost a lot. Temps for colonization is 80-85F, for fruiting 72-75F would do good. Only particular strains will fruit on grain, and even so, you will get very weak flushes.

I innoculated some rye and incubated in the mid eighties and have had bad results. I had some that were incubated in the low 70s and had better growth but I managed to kill them after shaking them to hard.
