Dreams are....life. That's what I get out of that.

Dreams are just a different form of reality. A different dimension if you will.

I enjoy the interpretation offered up by the recent film, What the Bleep Do We Know?, in which they presented an idea about how our entire existence might be equated to concentrated bits of information turning on and off in a fundamentally incomprehensible array of matter, in essence a thought. In other words, as one apparent understanding of quantum mechanics would dictate, that bits and pieces of all our surrounding matter (ie. basic atomic structure such as electrons, nuclei, etc) come into and out of existence spontaneously, a very radical view could be that indeed there is a god (for lack of a better word) that dreams up reality as we go along.
Tangent with this line of thinking, we are already living in a dream and our dreams could be a small piece of the god's thought process bubbling up to our individual consciousness. Of course, this is not to say that I necessarily believe this theory - afterall, historically much of what we take for granted as truth today will ultimately be proven false as new truths emerge. Nonetheless, it is great food for thought and if it blows your mind I suggest you go rent What the Bleep

PS. Happy Birthday

Ugh... I was afraid someone would bring to light this often negatively perceived context. Indeed, a few of the parties expressing their ideas in the film have attended Ramtha's Quintessential School of Enlightenment up in Washington state, but my contention is that if you actually listen to the movie as a whole, as you would to any friend expressing their own thoughts and ideas (no matter how crackpot you think they are), you may realize that the film is merely an engine to get people thinking about their world, to wretch us out of our predispositions and open up new worlds of possibility that we had either consciously suppressed or have been taught to disavow through the norms of our society.
In my opinion, the film doesn't have anything directly to do with Ramtha, and furthermore I think Ramtha's ideals and ideas are fucking fantastic. I wouldn't pay a few hundred dollars to attend her seminars, but there is no harm in lending an ear to a different point of view. For those who might claim that the filmmakers twisted the interviews of various scientists out of context - it IS Hollywood and ANY media production will break up context to a certain extent in order to maintain the projected momentum of the film. Afterall, this is a documentary designed to be entertaining - 'cause we all know that much of America (particularly in youth) doesn't often care to pay much mind to science and philosophical thought, and thus the production was dressed up to make it more intriguing for the average viewer. At the end of the credits they even have a disclaimer about how the views of some of the interviewees do not reflect the view of the producers - but even if they didn't, who cares?! The film in my opinion is meant to expand our own personal universe and help us realize greater potential for ourselves.. and if it takes a middle-aged woman who supposedly channels a 35,000 year old warrior to do it, so be it!

I saw "What the Bleep", and I was confused about the part where they were talking about blessing the water, and the structure of the water changing or something? If anyone has seen this movie, and can clarify this for me, I would be appreciative. The way I understand it, it just seems WAY too out there to be what they meant.

You are referring to Dr. Emoto's work on "The Message from Water" - for those of you who haven't seen it, here's a [ related link ]. Personally speaking, I think this portion of the film was pretty bogus (though still quite entertaining). The premise from the film was that by labeling distilled water with certain emotional messages, the thoughts from onlookers would then affect the structural makeup of the water molecule. Unfortunately, what they fail to mention is that no two snowflakes are wholly alike, and since Emoto was actually studying ice crystals and not water molecules in their liquid state, I feel that there is not much if any scientific basis for his conclusions. This would be more of an artistic experiment imo.
I would write that scene of the movie off as part of the "Hollywood" equation

Thanks geo, I knew that sounded WAY too far out there. If that was true, I would start blessing my water before drinking it.
