Be careful, dont want it to get cold too quickly and possibly crack.

Yes. There IS danger in this.

as if the Shroomery motif of PATIENCE hasn't rubbed in yet.. .

When you pressure cook anything, the gaseous contents of the jar are forced out. What's left is a vacuum.

If you follow almost any correct tek, they advise to allow the pc to come to room temp before opening it up.

The microclimate inside the pc can be bombarded by contams if the cooling is sped up. Some of these contams can make their way into the jars.

If you allow it to come to room temp undisturbed, the interior of the pc comes to equillibrium with the exterior without the ingress of too many contams.

If you coax the pc into a "sudden chill," the air inside is replaced by contamination-rich air from the outside.

The jars will do their best to suck this air in. Not a good thing.

As if contams weren't enough, as someone already said, the sudden temp change, in concert with air pressure changes can cause jars to crack.

So, be patient, and let the contents of the pressure cooker cool down slowly.

Thanks Chang Lee,

I naturally had my suspiscions so that is why I asked. I did suspect that it would cause an intake of "bad" air. Some person told me with the tone of an expert that it is no problem...
I have plenty of patience. I have been tweaking my birdseed substrate for a solid week and am learning from the two greatest teachers: Trial & Error
