Hi,
I keep seeing these mushrooms popping up all around these birch trees, and ive been trying to identify them for awhile. Ive been told they could be A muscaria, A parcivolvata, or A caesarea, all these shrooms look quite similar. I was hoping for muscaria, but i can never be 100% sure so i thought id have one last attempt to ID this.
Cap - 2 and half inch diameter, Orange red, sticky when wet, afew off white warts on top, dome shape coming in slightly near bottom. Gills - White, not attached to stem. Stipe - 3 quater inch diameter, Off white, quite shaggy in appearance, fat at the base, ring on stem, partly hollow. Spor print - White. Habitat - Found about 4 foot from a birch tree, in England.
Notes : Ive seen mushrooms earlier this year that looked more Muscaria like in the same place as this one ( had more spots ). Most of these were bigger though.
Here are my pics ( a snail gave it some eyes [i feel like i should name it]).

see at the base theres abit that comes out, this bit did go right round the base but half fell off.

If anyone could help me with this one id be very grateful. It seems to be very fly or die with this shroom, or might it be a ditcher !
Thank u !

THat is a muscaria....
Notice the white little specs towards the margin of the mushroom?
The two big white dots look like it was eaten by a slug or osmething.

Yeah, definitely Amanita muscaria. Amanita parcivolvata and Amanita caesarea don't even grow in the UK

I am not familiar with A.Parcivolvata, but A.Caesarea doesn't, as is said, grow in the UK (unfortunately), but it has a massive sack shaped volva, pronounced annulus, and an orangy stem, with bright orange gills, whereah A.Muscaria has white gills and stem, a mere roughening of he stem in place of the annulus, and the volva is reduced to a basal bulb covered in shaggy detatchable scales.
